What if I'm not very good at yoga or a complete beginner?
Fear not! There is a wide spectrum of experience on my retreats, with many of the attendees at the beginning of their yoga journey. I offer poses that can be adopted to your comfort level. I provide a space where you are welcome to take whatever works for you and leave the rest.
Am I required to attend all the retreat events?
You are welcome to sit out any retreat events, no explanation needed. This retreat is for YOU - to stretch, rest, and unwind in the way that feels right in the moment.Â
What if I'm not very flexible?
It's a common misconception that yoga requires flexibility, but flexibility is absolutely not a prerequisite. These retreats will not be focused on achieving fancy postures or involve headstand contests. While we will dive into daily yoga classes, my main goal is for you to explore the beautiful locations and cultures that we are immersed in, create meaningful connections with the other participants, and to develop a stronger, more loving relationship with your body, mind and spirit. I will be there to support and assist you at whatever stage you are at. So forget the wild poses you see in the media - wherever you are at is perfect!
What will the yoga classes be like?
There will be 1-2 yoga classes a day. Both more active and restorative classes will be offered. I offer vinyasa (power and slow flow styles), yin and restorative yoga classes. The classes will be tailored to each group's unique interests, injuries and energy level.Â
What will we do besides yoga?
My intention is to explore some of the most beautiful corners of the world together with you. I have found breathtaking locations, with small intimate lodging for our groups. You will have ample opportunity to explore the local sights and cultures (and I will do the research to provide attractive options), or you can choose to stay on site in one of these gorgeous homes and deeply rest.
I will offer a variety of activities for self-exploration and healing - these are all optional, depending on how adventurous and reflective you are feeling. Options include meditation, breathwork, journaling, cacao ceremonies, ecstatic dance, essential oil play and more.
What will the food be like? (I have allergies)
Food will be fresh and delicious, prepared on site by Jenna Moffett, founder of Whimsical Wellness. Jenna strives to create vibrant meal times that bring the community together around the table, leaving everyone feeling nourished and nurtured. Ayurveda, lovingkindness, and locally sourced/foraged foods, in collaboration with farmers; are all key ingredients in the dishes she creates. Jenna is able to easily accomodate allergies in her cooking and I will collect allergy information in advance of our retreat to ensure everyone is taken care of.
Is there an age limit for your retreats?
No way! I encourage anyone from teen to elder to attend. there is a beauty in spaces were we learn from each other across generations (and not enough of them). I welcome all ages to come to share, learn and absorb from one another.
